Horse Riding Tours
Flying W Ranch Horse Riding and Trail Tours
Enjoy an all-inclusive horseback riding vacation or afternoon outing on 1,250 acres of gently rolling grassland and ravines. Guests can experience the rugged, beautiful countryside while riding one of the Flying W’s horses.
We offer several different trail rides to choose from starting at a beginner level and going all the way up to the most advanced.
All trails and arena use varies in price range and in trail riding times.
Arena Rides
This ride is for families or for anyone that just wants to test their abilities on a horse. With a guide, you will be able to ride your horse in the outside arena and if interested, beginner classes are also available.
Family Trails
Includes a 1 hour trail ride and fun for the entire family. Also available in a 3 hour tour to the Buffalo Kill Site.
Intermediate Trails
This trail ranges from 1 hour to 3 hours with a midway stop at the historical Buffalo Kill Site and Archeological Dig Site. On this ride, the horses will take you up and down the rolling hills of the property and may trot.
Advanced Trails
This trail ride is only for the advanced riders as the horses do run, go through rougher terrain and take you on a real cowboy experience. you may choose to take this trail on a rough cattle drive or just enjoy riding and looking at all the beautiful scenery. Again this trail is ONLY FOR THE ADVANCED RIDERS.
Open Trails
Also only for the advanced. This trail can be taken with a guide or without. This is only available in certain situations. Call for details.
Sites to see on your ride:
Make sure to visit the buffalo kill site located on the ranch, revealing the remains of an estimated 800 bison. Guided trail rides and share details about the Plains Indians, who herded the bison over cliffs for food.
Plan on staying a weekend, holiday or longer in one of the Flying W Guest Ranch’s small but intimate cabins that sleep two to four guests. The fully furnished, fully equipped lodge can comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests. RV, tent and campsites can be reserved year-round.
